Zanette is an industrial reality oriented towards change and innovation, born in 1954 in an area with high industrial vocation. In Italy it was a particular period with transition from mass to specialization production. In contrast to common large companies that already spread in the Italian territory, small and medium sized companies are beginning to take hold.
Zanette is a company located in Vigonovo, in the area of Pordenone, North East of Italy, specialized for over 30 years in the industrial prefabrication market. Thanks to its experience, the company is able to produce different types of products for many needs.
Zanette and Cladia.
The production process has changes all over the years and Zanette was able to intercept this new way. In particular, the company’s work has always been driven by 3 different elements: design, research, production. And it is precisely starting from these 3 elements that Zanette created, thanks to its experience ever the years as a manufacturer of prefabricated concrete panels , and the collaboration with LafargeHolcim, CLADIA: particular cladding panels made with Ductal UHPC concrete.
It was thanks to constant research, always aimed at the development of new technologies, and the quality control of materials that these new products could see the light in the Zanette internal laboratory.
A look towards the future.
Zanette’s goal is to work with new technologies and materials, to transform the construction of simple prefabricated buildings into one increasingly complex. The company today also works with a look towards the future, which is to always be present in the renewable energy and eco-sustainability sector.
Two concepts that are fundamental as the construction sector will have to be increasingly sustainable and respectful of the environment, if it is to continue to be s staple of the Italian economy.
A greener building is possible and the margins for improvement are high. A path that Zanette has chosen to follow for a long time to ensure excellent results for the end customer but without impacting the environment.
Zanette’s commitment to innovation, research and development.
Innovation, Research and Development: these are 3 elements to which Zanette has always paid great attention. The constant search for new technologies is crucial in a sector such as construction. All this takes place through a research process to ensure high standards.
The research is aimed at the development of new technologies and the quality control of materials and products, subjected to continuous tests in the internal laboratory and to further experimental tests in an authorized external laboratory.
Innovative technical solutions
In particular, innovative technical solutions are developed and perfected, such as thermal break walls, in the direction of respect for the environment and energy saving, according to the recent directives of the Kyoto Protocol. Reference is to an international agreement to face global warming, an environmental phenomenon that science has never called into question and whose anthropic responsibility is clear and proven.
Zanette collaborates with the customer for the development of each individual project, looking for customized solutions, increasingly based on maximum functionality and always with attention to the smallest details, guaranteeing high product quality at balanced prices.
Our innovative products
Among the highest quality products there are the facade finishes, which are also supported with the use of special pieces such as rounded corner pieces, head turns, false frame joints, etc…
Our company always pays attention to regulations, which is why we also produce thermal break infill panels in different thicknesses and with different characteristics of both acoustic and thermal insulation.
All this takes place through an internal production cycle that covers every phase, from design to development. Innovation and quality are two of the pillars on which Zanette’s work has always been based. Innovation is achieved in particular on products for internal and external facades, on which the attention of the company has focused over the years, which has given life to a unique product of certified quality.
The ventilated facade is a solution that is often used for covering building facades. A way to enhance the aesthetic but also the functional side by promoting the breathability of the building and therefore increasing its performance.
In general, a facade plays an important role in the context of a building: it acts as a barrier between the external and internal environments, thus determining the level of insulation and, at the same time, acting as an architectural aesthetic element. When creating a facade, the aspect of protecting indoor environments must be taken into consideration, therefore reducing energy consumption, as well as the aesthetics of the building itself.
Among the many solutions that are adopted there is the ventilated facade, which offers multiple advantages both in terms of energy savings and from the point of view of the architecture of the building.
What is the ventilated facade?
The ventilated facade of a building is an external cladding system consisting of several layers that can be adapted to both new buildings and existing buildings with a facade redevelopment work. The layers that make up a ventilated facade are:
- Insulating layer, on the external perimeter wall;
- Cavity for ventilation;
- Support structures where to anchor the external coverings;
- The actual external coating.
A technology that can guarantee high performance, which is why it is increasingly used in architecture for building facades. The advantages are recorded in terms of thermal, acoustic insulation, protection of the structure and enhancement of the building’s aesthetics. Obviously, these performances are guaranteed when using materials of a certain type, especially with regard to the external cladding of buildings.
Mechanism is quite simple: an empty space is created between the wall and the external cladding thus promoting the breathability of the building itself and significantly improving energy efficiency, as well as comfort.
How ventilated facades work
It can be installed on any building facade using supports that guarantee a mechanical anchoring system for the cladding, always leaving an air chamber between the external facade and the load-bearing structure of the building. This means that the building has high performance both in the summer months, as part of the heat will be reflected outside, and in the winter months.
It is important for a good result the external covering panels to be applied on the facade with anchoring systems to form a continuous layer. They are elements that are specifically created for ventilated facades that allow you to create continuous ventilation (the so-called chimney effect) in the empty space of the air chamber.
Materials must be of high quality, as in the case of Cladia panels made with Ductal, to guarantee high resistance to temperature changes, external stresses, chemical attacks and smog. The result will be a more insulating facade, suitable for problems such as humidity, infiltrations, detachments.
The ventilated facade is also an ideal system for an energy redevelopment work on existing buildings, giving a new skin to a building and also allowing maximum freedom of expression for the architect who works. All this to also guarantee a remarkable aesthetic result.
An innovative material, with high performance and much loved by architects for its great ductility that leaves freedom in terms of aesthetic performance. Ductal is a UHPC material, that is Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), very high performance concrete for the building industry.
It is a fiber-reinforced concrete capable of guaranteeing very high performances for external facade cladding solutions; a green solution since it is not obtained through oil synthesis. A totally inert material that does not release any substance into the environment.
Ductal is used in construction as in the case of the creation of our Cladia panels, in whose compound it is present: this contributes to creating panels for external facade cladding with particular characteristics in terms of resistance, ductility, longevity, energy efficiency, insulation and aesthetics.
What is Ductal
A latest generation concrete, a special patented material whose technical characteristics are unique among those on the market today. Ductal is also an ideal solution for obtaining important aesthetic effects as it allows you to let free rein to the creative potential of architects and designers.
A highly technological building material of natural origin that offers the right combination of form and substance for constructions of any kind: not only building facades but also roofs for example. A material specifically designed and developed for architectural applications.
Ductal combines a very high performance mineral matrix with organic, metallic, stainless steel or glass reinforcing fibers. It offers architects and designers the freedom to create complex textures, surfaces and shapes for a wide range of applications.
The Ductal for external facade panels
Precisely because Ductal as the latest generation concrete can guarantee exceptional strength, ductility and durability, it is widely used for external facades. Cladia panels are made by inserting this material into their mix; this is the secret of the extremely high performance they can guarantee.
Thanks to the use of this material with elements of natural origin, it is possible to create panels to sustainably cover external and internal facades, while allowing to customize surfaces with shapes, colors, graphics or photographs. A solution much loved by designers and architects who tend to use Ductal in works that require high performance.
We mainly talk about the design, construction and cladding of commercial, industrial and public structures with the possibility of making the facades of the buildings on which we work unique. An effective solution also in the case of ventilated facades, which require use of excellent quality materials as known for obtaining the desired results: the thermal insulation and the great resistance of those facades is also due to the use of high-performance materials in the compound, just like in the case of Ductal.
UHPC is the abbreviation that indicates a new building product with high quality results: a recent tool whose acronym means Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), very high performance concrete to be used in construction. Exactly what is used for the production of Cladia panels.
UHPC concretes are materials that have a fiber-reinforced cement base so as to guarantee a better response than traditional concretes of previous generations, especially in terms of resistance and ductility in processing.
This abbreviation indicates various groups of composite materials which have an optimized microstructure whose characteristic is to present a minimum level of imperfections and impurities. All faculties, those listed so far, which allow to reduce maintenance costs as well as to have a minimum environmental impact by meeting current needs by talking about eco-sustainability,
UHPC technology for Cladia panels
A product that was born in recent times, as mentioned, more or less in the late 90s and that falls within the so-called Engineered Cementitious Concrete (ECC), or innovative or engineered cementitious materials. The goal is to find a solution for problems related to the use of traditional concrete, to be understood above all as poor durability and limited ductility.
Our company has chosen this type of product to create Cladia panels for building facades, innovative in terms of conformation and performance; the secret is use of Ductal, a material with unique technical characteristics and extremely malleable so as to meet the creative vein of architects and engineers.
Thanks to UHPC concretes, the finished product is very resistant and long-lasting, as well as more easily workable and less invasive as regards the environmental impact that usually results from the traditional life cycle of a product made of ordinary concrete.
Quality and environmentally sustainable concrete
A product with extraordinary potential that contributes to giving life to a final material capable of responding to disparate needs. The finished product, as in the case of panels for external and internal facades, will be resistant to compression as well as high temperatures, long-lasting, eco-efficient, insulating.
And these are the main differences between UHPC concretes and first generation materials: Ultra-High Performance Concrete, thanks to the presence of fibers and binder in the mixture, can guarantee advantages both in the processing phase and subsequently, when the work is completed. A pleasant impact also from an aesthetic point of view for a result of excellent quality.
